For The Best Scottsdale
When my two sons were small boys (they are now in their 40’s) my wife and I often took them to McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. The train ride along with the Carousel was often the highlight of our weekend. Now, my sons have blessed us with 5 grandchildren all of whom love going to the park. Sometimes it’s for a birthday picnic other times it’s to enjoy the fabulous Christmas light displays. Whatever the event, we always leave thankful that Scottsdale has such a wonderful and affordable venue for families to enjoy.
The problem is, the revenues from ticket sales are not sufficient for all that the park requires. The park is in need of repairs and some additions.
Thankfully, there’s a solution in sight to help McCormick-Stillman to keep up with its reputation as one of the most visited and prestigious parks of its kind anywhere in the country.
Questions 1, 2 and 3 on the November 5th ballot invest in needed upgrades for our city, to include Stillman-McCormick Park. The bonds before Scottsdale voters will help ensure that the Park maintains its high standards, beautiful grounds and historic railroad memorabilia.
Scottsdale’s Bond Questions 1, 2 and 3 will also provide funds to improve other Scottsdale parks and fix infrastructure on Indian Bend Wash, Vista del Camino Park and Civic Center Plaza, as well as invest in facilities for first responders and seniors.
Scottsdale is a world class community because of amenities like Stillman-McCormick Park; My family and I appreciate this every time we get on the Carousel or board the train and want to make sure the trains continue to run both now and into the future.
The three bond questions on the November 5th ballot invest in the park I love and the city that we all love. That’s why I’m voting YES.
And a friendly reminder to mail your ballot back this week so they will be sure to be counted by the November 5th election date.
